Crawling Pest Info

Yes, if you have the required specialized equipment, like hammer drills and power sprayer with proper pressure to deliver the chemical. Although it can be done, we would NOT recommend it. The savings you would gain by doing it yourself, would not be sufficient to overcome the experience and guarantees provided by us – The Best Pest Ecterminators. Remember you are doing this one time, we do it for a living and do it everyday.

Black and carpenter ants can invade the house at any time. Whereas different ants have various reasons for invading houses, the most common reason why ants come to any house is to look for shelter and scout for food. If they find food in your home, they may look for wooden structures to build their nest.

Cockroaches can get into your home just like any other insect through cracks or openings in the building such as damaged areas or even through openings in or around doors and windows. Sometimes they can get inside through containers or items brought in from outside such as trash cans, bags, suitcases, shoes, kid’s toys, and anything else that may have been brought in from outside. Other times pets can track them in or bring them in as a present for you.

Many species of cockroaches live for a year or longer if their environment is right! A female roach can produce up to 320 eggs in her lifetime.  She will hide her egg capsules (usually containing 14-18 eggs each) in a safe and protected area. Young cockroaches typically reach maturity in 160 days. Cockroaches are notoriously resilient, that combined with a long life cycle, and the potential for each female to yield more than 300 cockroach babies means that a cockroach problem needs to be dealt with quickly and effectively.

Flying Pest Info

Mosquitoes just about top the list of the “worst insect pests of all time.” After all, who isn’t familiar with the itchy, painful bites that mosquitoes leave behind after they pay you a visit? And while days of itchy, oozy mosquito bites are a nuisance we’d all prefer to forego, there is a more threatening reason to avoid mosquitoes…they can carry potentially fatal diseases.

Your first line of defense is always applying insect repellant before heading outside during mosquito season.

Having a barrier spray professionally applied around your home and yard can eradicate potentially dangerous mosquitoes from your property.

So why do you need mosquito control service? It is your best chance to keep irritating and potentially disease-carrying mosquitoes OFF your land.

Absolutely. If you’re determined to protect yourself and your family from mosquitoes then a professional mosquito control service is your best option. The spray applied during service visits can eliminate entire mosquito populations and their larvae.

However, pest professionals don’t just spray, they also inspect your property for anything that may be drawing mosquitoes in. A mosquito control service makes sure you are as protected as you can be.

It is highly recommend that residents have their yard’s professionally treated all during mosquito season. Mosquito control service is one of the most effective options to avoid mosquito bites and to help stop the spread of WNV.

There are a couple of signs that could signal a fly infestation. The most obvious is seeing flies around the house in a greater number than usual or groups congregating in a certain area. Another sign is finding a nesting site where eggs have been laid or larvae are feeding. Finally, you may hear them buzzing around before you even see them.

Rodents

Many people confuse rats and mice, assuming that they’re two names for the same creature. However, rats and mice are different pests.

Some people will mistakenly identify mice in their home as rats, or vice versa. However, rats and mice are different creatures, each of which poses a particular set of risks.

The easiest way to tell mice and rats apart is by their size. Mice are generally quite small, measuring just 3 to 4 inches long with an accompanying 3 to 4 inch tail. Meanwhile, rats can be much larger: some rats have bodies that measure up to 11 inches long in addition to a 9 inch tail. Rats can also weigh ten times as much as mice (or even more, in some cases). You can also tell whether you’re dealing with a rat or mouse invasion based on the droppings that you find. Mice droppings are like tiny grains of rice (sometimes even smaller), while rat droppings are much bigger. Rat feces are also rounded on the edges, as opposed to mouse droppings (which generally have pointy ends).

Mice, rats, and other rodents can carry a wide array of dangerous diseases. Rodents can contaminate food and various surfaces in your home with their feces and urine, putting you at risk of contracting these diseases. Some of the infections carried by rats in particular (such as hantavirus) are lethal in many cases. If you encounter rodents in your home, contact The Best Pest Exterminators for help.

A rat can fit through a 20mm hole, while a mice can fit through a 6-7mm hole.

We begin with a thorough inspection to identify the rats and their entry points. Then, we install bait stations around the premises containing food-grade baits that are attractive to rodents. Once the rat eats from the bait, it will experience internal bleeding due to a lack of Vitamin K. In most cases, the rat will die in its nest out of dehydration. Our treatment is designed to eliminate rats, not provide a one-time solution. That’s why we work on a contract basis to ensure continuous and effective rodent control.

Reptiles

Some common types of snakes that may invade homes or properties include rat snakes, garter snakes, water snakes, and venomous snakes such as copperheads and rattlesnakes.

Snakes can enter homes or properties through small gaps or holes in the walls, foundation, or roof, as well as through gaps in doors and windows. They may also enter through open vents as well.

To prevent snakes from entering your home or property, you should seal any gaps or holes in the walls, foundation, or roof. You should also make sure that doors and windows fit tightly and do not have any gaps. Additionally, you should keep your yard and landscaping well-maintained, as snakes are attracted to overgrown vegetation and debris.

If you find a snake in your home or property, the best course of action is to call us, the best pest exterminators. Attempting to handle the snake yourself can be dangerous, especially if it is venomous.
